Doe of the Dawn, Psalm 22

1. Al-Eloháh, Al-Eloháh, lama sabachtani? why are you so far from helping me? Why should you ignore such laments as these?

2. O my Lord, I cry in fits through the day and through the night; I am not silent, and yet I am not heard!

3. But you are holy, O you who are praised by your people.

4. I have heard that our forefathers trusted in you, and I have heard that you saved them also.

5. They cried out to you, and thus they were saved. They trusted in you, and their trust did not trouble them.

6. But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by my supposed people.

7. All that see me laugh and deride me: their words are as arrows, and they shake their heads, saying,

8. "She trusts that her Lord will deliver her! Then let Him deliver her from us, since He loves her so much."

9. But you are He who took me from the womb: you gave me hope: even before I knew my mother's breasts.

10. I was cast upon you from the womb. You are my Lord from before my mother's belly.

11. Be not far from me; for trouble is near! And there is no one left to help.

12. Many bulls have blocked my way; Bashan's strongest have surrounded me.

13. I am beset by gaping maws, fallen upon by lions, both ravenous and roaring.

14. I am poured out like water. My bones grind and falter. My heart burns like a waxen candle. It melts within my bowels.

15. My strength is dried up like clay. My tongue is tied up at the stake. And I am covered in the ashes of my people.

16. Earth's dogs have encompassed me. I am trapped by the wicked's assemblies. They have pierced my hands and my feet.

17. My very bones are laid bare for all to see; they gaze upon me, staring.

18. They part my garments. They cast lots upon it.

19. So be not far from me, O Lord: O my strength! Hasten to help me.

20. Deliver my sword from my darling! Deliver me from Earth's dogs.

21. Save me from the lion's maws: for you have heard the horns of the unicorns.

22. I will declare your name unto my people! In the midst of my congregations, your name will be praised.

23. You who fear my Lord! Praise Him. O' forgotten among Jacob's remnant! Glorify Him. And fear Him, ye sinful of Israel.

24. For He has not despised nor abhorred the afflictions of the afflicted; neither has He hidden His face from her. But when she cried out to Him, He heard.

25. I will praise you in great congregations. I will take my vows before all that fear you.

26. The meek shall eat and be satisfied. They shall praise the Lord that seek Him. Their hearts shall live forever.

27. Every corner of the Earth shall remember and turn unto their Lord! And each culture of every nation shall worship Him.

28. For Creation is the Lord's, and He is the only one fit to lead the nations.

29. All who grow fat upon the Earth shall eat and worship: all that become dust also shall bow before Him: none can survive this world, save as He permits them.

30. A seed shall serve Him; it shall be accounted for generation-over-generation.

31. They shall arrive, and shall declare His righteousness unto those who wander in doubt. It is already done.
